"Nude Nymphs With Zinnias" by Rachel Uchizono

I am so happy to be painting again.  My project for the year is officially done.  I restored a four unit
Victorian apartment building.  The apartments are all rented out.
Now it's time to paint blooming fall flowers.

These are Zinnias from my garden in a large malachite vase featuring nude nymphs.  Also in the arrangement:  a Chinese opium jar and a Flow Blue waste bowl.

Hollyhock Painting

UCHIZONO GALLERY
Here is a  commission I did recently inspired by my garden.  This was last years explosion of hollyhocks in the flower box.
The year before sunflowers took over.  I had over 200 sunflowers.  They are a mess to clean up and I am still testing to see what I can grow here in Roanoke.  So far Zinnias are the most prolific.

Flow Blue with Chinoiserie theme is a favorite subject.  I love the blue willow and pagoda.
They are suggested in the painting.

I love seasonal paintings.  Turban squash and Chinese Lanterns have the colors that are so fun  to paint!
Persimmons are a natural addition.   The fabric is an embroidered piece from Uzbekistan.
